Sister Division BSM Pumps Goes Hollywood

A benefit of being a part of a multi-national corporation like Ruthman Companies is trading stories about fun and cool jobs with our sister divisions. We’re certainly a little starstruck by BSM Pump’s latest shipment: 25 pumps bound for the set of the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
The pumps are for a manufacturer of fog machine equipment who will be creating the spooky atmosphere for the next installment of the popular Disney franchise. Typically, BSM works with defense and industrial pump applications, so playing a part in creating movie magic is a neat change of pace.
To get these pumps ready for camera, BSM made some design changes, grinding the gears and housing to a minimum end clearance to increase suction. They also swapped out the standard O-ring for a Viton one more compatible with the pumped liquid (AKA fog juice). The pumps were also painted black to blend into the movie scenery.
We will have our popcorn ready and waiting for the anticipated late 2021 release date.
